Colorful crochet

 Crocheters may have noticed tops worn by Lara early in PARIENTES A LA FUERZA, one of joined flower motifs, two more solid in muted stripes.

Raspberry color of original may no longer be available, but might instead use Hot Pink like that worn by characters in #PALF.  Lily's Sugan N Cream cotton yarn sells six pack of assorted bright colors that would look good in this design AND also refer to symbolic rainbow used in #PARIENTESALAFUERZA.

Bag pattern might be altered to make a summery top.  I'm guessing Lara's was made by Mama Rosa or Margarita (like Mrs Weasley in #HarryPotter movies, using up scraps of assorted yarns--the Jurados, like the  Weasley's, are large family who were materially poor, but rich in love.)  

I think some sunny yellow yarn was shown next to Marga in first episode of PARIENTES A LA FUERZA, in scene where Carmen goes to her mother's room to bid farewell before flying to Los Angeles.

Small "pick up project" like this can be worked on during commercial breaks, like I do when watching PALF!

Follow the Rainbow

Announced in February 2021, two American movies re-imagining WIZARD OF OZ are in production, but I think I'll still prefer lesser-known TV series (not promoted as being inspired by OZ) for being more innovative, entertaining and insightful. After repeat viewings of NBC's 100 episode  PARIENTES A LA FUERZA (Family By Force) , streaming On Demand by Spectrum, Youtube, Telemundo, I realized 2021 story about Hollywood screenwriter--born in Mexico, strayed from his cultural roots & family values--creatively alludes in many ways to 1939 version of  WIZARD OF OZ .  Eyes opened, now seems obvious to me.  Shakespeare himself is well-known for finding ideas for his own plays in history and other stories, creatively transforming them like powerful sorceror Prospero of his final play  THE TEMPEST  with famous Ariel's song "a sea change, into something rich and strange". Gone With the Wind transformed? Chivalry in the Caribbean
